Apple has revealed plans for a May 7th event focused on unveiling new iPads

Apple plans to market the Vision Pro in May of 2024, following its debut at a product launch event in January of 2024. A “special Apple Event” has been planned for May 7 at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET, and invitations to the media have been given out. The Apple Pencil is featured prominently on the invitation, suggesting that iPads are the main focus of this virtual event. There are rumors going around that the iPad Pro will receive some of the biggest updates since the 2021 M1 redesign. These improvements might include an OLED screen, a slightly bigger 13-inch model for the larger variant, an upgraded M3 chipset, and the eagerly anticipated horizontal front-facing camera relocation.

A redesigned Magic Keyboard with an aluminum construction and a larger trackpad may also be released, along with a new Apple Pencil. With this development, the longest wait for new iPad models since Apple’s original product launch comes to an end. It’s highly probable that we’ll witness refreshed iPad Air models, possibly featuring a larger 12.9-inch size. Reports from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman indicate dwindling inventory of the current iPad Air at Apple’s retail stores, hinting strongly at an imminent release of an upgraded version.
